Gene Corrigan used to say, "Once you’re beyond 12, you’re not a conference, you’re an association." His meaning is obvious in that, and I would agree with that.
Would we entertain that? Possibly, if that’s what we felt our league needed to do to remain a prominent player in intercollegiate athletics. We do not believe that’s what we need to do at this point in time to maintain that position or to enhance that position for the ACC. It’s something that our current group of presidents and athletic directors, it’s a direction they would prefer not to go in at this point. But ultimately you do what’s best for your conference, just like institutions try to do what’s best for their particular institution.
