Looking Back: Miami Dominates Pitt

by ACC Rivals

They have not met since Miami was in the Big East a few years back, but the results however did not change.  It was the 7th straight win for the Canes over Pitt.  The Defense set the tone just absolutely shutting down Pitt.  For the first half, Pitt had only 75 total yards and did not get a first down for a few drives.

It took Pitt almost 3 full quarters to get inside the Miami 30 yard line.

Interceptions still a problem

Jacory Harris - 21 for 32 with 248 yards, 2 Touchdowns and 2 INTs

Jacory was able to move the ball effectively, but still needs to cut down the interceptions.  Both INTs were jump balls thrown for Travis Benjamin, the Canes smallest receiver, probably not the best decision.  If those balls our thrown to the bigger receivers like Hankerson or Byrd then there is a good chance they could be caught.  Nevertheless, something needs to be done to take those INTs out or else that will end up costing us in the coming up games to Clemson or FSU.

The hearts of many Cane fans across the nation watching this game stopped for a second watching Jacory Harris take a big hit and come out of the game.  This was the first time in Jacory's career he had to be helped off the field.  Still showing his toughness Jacory was right back on the the field on the next offensive play.

Jacory Harris Hurt?

Rumor has it that Jacory Harris has a 3rd degree sprain in his left shoulder.  Luckily it is his non throwing shoulder, and it explains why for the rest of the game he was not making regular movements with his left arm.  Most likely he will wear a sling for his shoulder all week. Don't count Jacory out for this weeks ACC opener vs. Clemson in Death Valley.
