Miami cruised tonight in surprisingly easy victory over the Pittsburgh Panthers. It's was Miami 31 and Pitt 3. The Canes didn't play all that well especially on offense, but they won which is far better than what most of the ACC did in their non-conference matchups. At the moment they've staked their claim as being the team to beat in the ACC this year, and who can argue?
Let's change gears for a moment. I found this link on a discussion thread on the Georgia Tech Message Board The Hive. It was the SportingNews's article, SN Names the names the 20 Smartest Athletes in Sports.
These guys deserve an extra little notoriety. Frankly the time commitment required to play sports at the level these guys are at is enough. Throw in some of the majors, and SAT scores some of these athletes have and it's truly truly impressive. Sean Bedford the starting center at Georgia Tech majoring in Aerospace Engineering has a 3.8 GPA. I went to Georgia Tech, that's outstanding for a non-athlete.
Take a look at this great list!
