Best Week 4 Games in College Football

by All Sports Discussion

Here we go with our weekly College Football Preview. Now we start getting into the conference matchups, and that's where some of the best games of year happen.

There are still a few non-conference games though to keep an eye on. One in particular could affect the national title chase.

We'll update the TV listings as they come out.

Thursday 9/23

#19 Miami (1-1) at Pittsburgh (1-1) 7:30 PM ESPN

In non-conference games this season the ACC has been to put it mildly a huge disappointment. Pittsburgh is probably the Big East's 2nd best team. It will all depend if Pitt can pressure inconsistent Miami QB Jacory Harris.

All About Sports Prediction: Miami 27 Pittsburgh 24

Saturday 9/25

NC St. (3-0) at Georgia Tech (2-1) 12:00 PM

The 3-0 upstart NC State Wolfpack take on the defending ACC Champions. Pack QB Russell Wilson can hurt a suspect Georgia Tech defense, but Paul Johnson has the perfect answer to that. Run, run and run some more.

All About Sports Prediction: Georgia Tech 31 NC State 21

Virginia Tech (1-2) at Boston College (2-0) 12:00 PM Raycom

Boston College can play ball control with their stud runner Montel
Harris, but I still believe Virginia Tech is better than their record. It's the last chance for the Hokies. They lose here, and I can't defend them anymore.

All About Sports Prediction: Virginia Tech 23 BC 20

#1 Alabama (3-0) at #10 Arkansas (3-0) 3:30 PM CBS

QB Ryan Mallet can become the Heisman frontrunner if Arkansas wins. Alabama looks dominant. The Razorbacks will be in this one, but the Alabama is on a mission for a repeat.

All About Sports Prediction: Alabama 27 Arkansas 17

North Carolina (0-2) at Rutgers (2-0) 3:30 PM

Could the Heels really fall to 0-3 and send the season down the drain? Fellow SportsPageNetwork blogger Double G Sports looks closer at Rutgers in previewing this game.

All About Sports Prediction: Rutgers 24 UNC 21

#16 Stanford (3-0) at Notre Dame (1-2) 3:30 PM NBC

Was Stanford impressive or what destroying Wake Forest 68-21. Notre Dame has been snake bit in a couple of close losses. Brian  Kelly pulls his first big upset as Irish Head Coach in what should be a classic.

All About Sports Prediction: Notre Dame 31 Stanford 30

Georgia (1-2) at Mississippi St. (1-2) 7:00 PM FSN

If the ACC is the country's most disappointing conference, the Dogs O-Line is the country's most disappointing unit. Mississippi St. is more than capable of winning this game. Georgia finally plays to their recruiting rankings sort of.

All About Sports Prediction: Georgia 20 Mississippi St. 17

#12 South Carolina (3-0) at #17 Auburn (3-0) 7:45 PM ESPN

Auburn is coming off a very physical game with Clemson. The Gamecocks feature one of nation's best freshman running back in Marcus Lattimore. If the game was in Columbia I go with South Carolina, but it's not.

All About Sports Prediction: Auburn 17 South Carolina 13

#24 Oregon St. (1-1) at #3 Boise St (3-0) 8:00 PM ABC

Boise St. at home in their last opportunity to impress the pollsters will be sky high. Oregon St. will regret going to Boise, Idaho.

All About Sports Prediction: Boise St. 34 Oregon St. 23

#22 West Virginia (3-0) at #15 LSU (3-0) 9:00 PM ESPN2

Now here's an interesting non-conference battle. The Big East is constantly fighting for respect. The LSU offense sputters at times, but the defense is athletic and fast. A night game in Baton Rouge? No upset here.

All About Sports Prediction: LSU 30 West Virginia 17

#5 Oregon (3-0) at Arizona St. (2-1) 10:30 FSN

Who needs Jeremiah Masoli anyways? I bet Ole Miss wishes they could give him back. Arizona St. nearly beat Wisconsin on the road. I think the Ducks will be in for a real battle.

All About Sports Prediction: Oregon 31 Arizona St. 27
