OFFENSIVE BACK – Marshall Williams accounted for three touchdowns in Wake Forest’s 54-48 win over Duke on Sept. 11. Williams, a Durham, N.C., native, caught two passes, both for touchdowns, and totaled 51 yards receiving. His scoring catches were for 13 yards and 38 yards, both from Tanner Price. In addition, Williams tossed an 81-yard touchdown pass off a reverse to Chris Givens. Williams is 4-for-4 passing in his career for 131 yards and one touchdown.
ROOKIE – Tanner Price quarterbacked Wake Forest throughout the second half and helped the Deacons to a 54-48 win over Duke. Price completed 12 of 19 passes for 190 yards and three touchdowns while also carrying 10 times for 56 yards. He compiled 246 yards of total offense and accounted for four touchdowns, 3 passing and 1 rushing. Price is the first true freshman quarterback to play for Wake Forest since 2000. In the second half, Price led the Deacons on scoring drives of 38, 73 and 79 yards.
