NCAA Football Weekend Preview: I Need More Televisions!

This is one of the best weekends of regular season college football games that I can remember. If you can't find a game that you want to watch then really I don't think anyone can help you.

I've pretty much bailed on my family. They are going to see Clemson and Presbyterian, but I'm going to stay home and plan out my day of football. I just can't get myself to attend a 51-6 game when I could be watching Florida State and Oklahoma at the same time. Let's see how this day will go for me.

Georgia vs South Carolina (noon) ESPN2

I just can bring myself to believe in the Gamecocks yet. Everyone is telling me this is Steve Spurriers best team yet in Columbia. Georgia is better at the line of scrimmage, but they are without A.J. Green.

Georgia Tech vs Kansas (noon) Fox Sports Net

Kansas scored 3 points against North Dakota State. Georgia Tech has Joshua Nesbitt and one of the nation’s best running attacks. It’s always interesting to see how a road favorite plays. I hope the Jackets aren't looking ahead to North Carolina.

Duke vs Wake Forest (noon) Raycom Sports

For pure entertainment values this one should be a fun. I'm expecting an offensive shootout of the 38-35 nature.

Michigan vs Notre Dame (3:30) NBC

Which former power gets a little closer to actually being good?

Clemson vs Presbyterian (3:30) ESPN3

Ok this isn't a big game, but I wonder if I can find my father -in- law on ESPN3. Let's see if the Tigers shake off the rust shown against North Texas.

Florida State vs Oklahoma (3:30) ABC\ESPN2

Christian Ponder and FSU will be able to move the ball on the Sooners. Unfortunately the Noles still have defensive issues. The final score here might 65-60, but Florida State has a real shot.

Miami vs Ohio State (3:40) ESPN

Miami is another team I don't believe in. If they win at Ohio State that will convince me the Canes have returned to elite status. Jacory Harris gets in the Heisman discussion with a Miami win, and Terrelle Pryor can forget his chance if that happens.

BYU vs Air Force (4:00) Versus

Want a under the radar game, that will be a really good one try this one for size.

It's about 7 PM now and I need a snack and some fresh air. Maybe my family is back from Clemson...

Penn State vs Alabama (7 PM) ESPN

Ah big time matchup of coaching legend (Joe Paterno) and a guy about to be a coaching legend (Nick Saban) Wouldn't it be something if Paterno pulls the upset? I don't expect it, but after all the shootouts this should be a fairly low scoring war.

Oregon vs Tennessee (7 PM) ESPN2

Did you read that Tennessee coach Derek Dooley was teaching his players how to take a shower this week?   Oh man I got to see how he prepares his team for their first big game.

Time for the nightcap of games!

Virginia vs USC (10:30) FSN

The Trojans gave up a ton of yards to Hawaii. The Cavs actually are 1-0 with a win over Richmond. Hooray! Please Virginia don't embarrass yourself and the ACC. Keep it reasonably close if possible.

Stanford vs UCLA (10:30) ESPN

Is Stanford a real contender in the Pac 10? We'll know after this one.

I'd pretty much call that a perfect Saturday. I just hope my family doesn't disown me!
