Kyrie Irving, PG, Duke:

Irving is a perfect candidate to run the pick-and-roll, possessing a quick first step – which allows him to get around the corner and into the paint – nifty passing skills to set up his teammates, and the ability to stop on a dime, pull up and knock down jump shots. There is very little about Irving’s offensive game to dislike at this stage of his career.

A tenacious defender, Irving always seems to be in the shorts of the player he is defending and has a non-stop motor. Even without Irving’s skill and athleticism, that kind of defender is frustrating for opponents. With his sturdy frame and lateral quickness, Irving has to tools to be a pesky defender at the NBA level.
