The Duke Blue Devils are still in contention for a number of highly ranked recruits from the Class of 2011. Austin Rivers, Quinn Cook, and Quincy Miller all have Duke at or near the top of their list. Miller is the most intriguing of the two depending on who you ask, as he and Duke have had a hot and cold relationship for quite some time. The school and recruit have had their ups and downs, as chronicled in an earlier post here.
Quincy always seems to have the spotlight shone on him, and his gregarious personality attracts attention everywhere he goes. Not surprisingly, he tells Bill Rogers of DukeHoopBlog.com in this video below that he will make his announcement on ESPNU, but isn’t sure when just yet. He also notes that “if my team had a chance to win the national championship I’d stay all four years.” A little surprising to hear that coming from Quincy as he’s been known to talk about being a one-and-done player in the past. Looking back on this Summer, the talented youngster recalls fondly his time on the USA U-18 team, as so many of the participants have done after this productive year for the Americans.
Quincy has a visit upcoming to Louisville on September 4th, part of a star-studded group of recruits including good friend Deuce Bello, 6’5 Chicago shooting guard Wayne Blackshear, and 6’10 Jeffersontown center Zach Price. Josiah Turner, one of the nation’s best point guards, is also expected to visit Louisville that weekend, as could Seattle PG Tony Wroten and Baltimore SG Nick Faust and others. Quincy has a trip scheduled to Duke for Countdown to Crazieness on October 15th, where it remains to be seen if he’ll make. That trip to Louisville is his only scheduled official visit according to what he told Bill this past weekend, so we’ll see if he makes it out of the Bluegrass State without a deal in hand…
