There has been some message board speculation by well-connected sources that Blue Devils recruit Austin Rivers would visit Duke for their Midnight Madness event, Countdown to Crazieness. While that may still be the case, a new wrinkle has been thrown in this ever-changing recruitment. In an interview after the Boost Mobile Elite 24 event in Venice Beach, Austin stated that he will officially visit Duke the weekend of October 1st but will also visit the UNC Tarheels on October 16th. He has been known in the past to schedule visits and not make them, and has set benchmarks for visit dates that never came to fruition, so this may all change between now and then. Also, the fact that Austin stated that he will visit UNC on October 16th obviously leaves open the possibility that he will attend Duke’s version of Midnight Madness the night before on the 15th but it doesn’t seem likely. We’ll keep you posted as more updates on this develop.
This news was previously reported by KUTheShiver.com in this video, but we were able to confirm it tonight, so if there was a perception that he misspoke last night, all doubt has been removed tonight.
