More and more days pass in the “Agent Gate” story and less and less we truly know. Senior defensive tackle Marvin Austin might or might not play all or part of the year for the Tar Heels, the same thing for senior wide receiver Greg Little. However, away from the NCAA investigation there is one Carolina player that will not be playing for head coach Butch Davis. Freshman defensive tackle Brandon Willis is leaving North Carolina and will be attending U.C.L.A. The young man was part of a big time recruiting war, with UNC, Tennessee and FSU being all heavily involved and at one point all having the defensive star’s committment. Now, due to family reason, another school who wanted Willis will have his services.

“The unfortunate thing (for us) is that he (Willis’s father) found a job in Southern California and that he really is adamant about trying to keep his family together,” said Davis. “He’s asked both of his sons to join him in moving out there.”

And the reason for the father to want his sons close to him is pretty simple…

“It’s a sad situation because, maybe for those of you that didn’t know, Brandon lost his mother,” Davis continued.

I totally understand this situation and wish the young man and his family all the best as they move on with their lives.
