Going into the Summer, Duke thought they had the point guard position locked up for the immediate future with Kyrie Irving and Tyler Thornton in the bag and Seth Curry having spent a year practicing the position.
After Kyrie kept improving his game and after he impressed even those watching the pickup games in the K Center, those in the program began to think they may have too good of a solution at the position. A source has told Duke Hoop that NBA front office people have already guaranteed Duke that Kyrie will be a Top 5 pick in the upcoming draft barring injury or an unexpectedly poor showing this year.
