Good ACC Football Players on Bad Teams

Interesting article from Rival.com Mike Huguenin titled "Monday with Mike: Good players, bad teams". I'm not sure if you should be pleased or not if one your team's players is a bad team all-star. Some prominent ACC make the list. Check it below with Huguenin's comments.

RB Da'rel Scott, Maryland

"BUZZ: Scott has big-time speed, but missed five full games and parts of two others with injuries last season. He was a 1,000-yard rusher in 2008 but fell to 425 yards last season. A full season of health from Scott would provide a huge boost for a Terps offense that needs helps. "

LB Alex Wujciak, Maryland

"BUZZ: Wujciak quite simply is a tackle machine; he had 131 last season to go along with 8.5 tackles for loss, two interceptions (which he returned 152 yards) and two forced fumbles. He has 264 tackles in the past two seasons. "

CB Ras-I Dowling, Virginia

"BUZZ: Virginia again is going to have some offensive issues, but new coach Mike London won't have to worry about a secondary headed by Dowling. Dowling had three interceptions, eight pass breakups and two forced fumbles last season; he also finished with 58 tackles."

These are defiantly three of the better players in the ACC. Any of these Scott, Wujciak, or Dowling can be a first team All-ACC player in the 2010. I have Scott listed as my number three running back in the ACC. Scott is looking for a big comeback year after an injury riddled 2009.

Did you read that stat on Wujciak? 264 tackles in 2 years, that's ridiculous! A tackling machine is right. Wujciak is simply a relentless player. I bet Head Coach Ralph Friedgen wishes he had a couple more guys like Wujciak.

Virginia's Ras-I Dowling along with Wujciak made the Bronco Nagurski watch list as the nation's best defensive player. Expect Dowling to be playing on Sundays.
