NC State: Uchebo Plans To Re-classify As 2011 Prospect

Per ACCNow:

If everything goes according to plan, basketball recruit Joseph Uchebo will get to N.C. State one year sooner than expected.

Uchebo, a 6-9 power forward from Nigeria, is going to reclassify as a senior and graduate in 2011, his high school coach said Friday before Uchebo played in the Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions in Chapel Hill.

If he can pass a summer math class to get him on track to graduate early and join the Pack in 2011, that would be FANTASTIC news.

My concern all along with recruiting has been the fact that while 2010 was an epic haul, 2011 looked like it was going to be a pretty barren class and leave the Pack in a roller coaster situation, talent-wise.

Now that some scholarships have opened up and Uchebo has decided to move up a year, the Pack has an opportunity to maintain a more even talent flow year-to-year and build a more stable talent base. Doing so will keep the Pack from being a flash-in-the-pan contender to a more consistent ACC title challenger.
