Game 3

UNC 08-09: 85
UNC 81-82: 70

UNC 08-09 leads the series 2-1

Notes: After losing 85-70 in game two, UNC 08-09 took the 2-1 series lead by winning 85-70 in game three.  Tyler Hansbrough was nearly unstoppable scoring 29 points on 9-12 shooting and was a perfect 11-11 from the free throw line.  Ty Lawson added 19 points and 7 assists while turning the ball over just 2 times.  UNC 81-82 lost despite shooting over 60% from the floor, but it was their inability to keep Hansbrough and UNC 08-09 off the offensive boards that hurt them.  James Worthy led UNC 81-82 with 22 points, while Sam Perkins added 19 points and 6 rebounds.

UNC 08-09 wins the series 3-1

Notes: Tyler Hansbrough scored 19 points to lead UNC 08-09 to the series win and a chance to move on to the championship game.  Ty Lawson added 17 points and 5 assists, while Danny Green scored 15 points and Wayne Ellington added 11 points to provide scoring balance.  Sam Perkins led UNC 81-82 with 21 points and 6 rebounds, but it was the disappearance of Michael Jordan that hurt UNC 81-82.  Jordan was just 3-9 shooting thanks in large part to Danny Green who was physical with Jordan for the entire game.  UNC 08-09 moves on to the championship game to take on #13 Duke 98-99.
