ACC Inks 155 mil/year Deal With ESPN

Per John Ourand of the Sports Business Journal...

ESPN agreed to pay $155M/year for rights to ACC games. Fox made a strong bid pushing the cost up. Will be on a free page later this AM.

That would give each ACC school 12.9 million per year.  I then asked John if this meant Fox's Sunday Night Hoops package was out, and he gave this response...

Fox could still buy the Sunday Night Hoops package from ESPN. But that doesn't appear likely.

Some great Twitter followers also tossed in these nuggets...

  • Last year, the ACC schools received $5.6 million per school per year. They more than doubled it.  via @InTheBleachers
  • the B12 & Pac10 both make less than 6mil each on tv monies, the Big East <3mil. via @BeerControl

The deal is a good one for the ACC and likely will keep any ACC school from leaving any time soon.
