Game 1

Duke leads the series 1-0

Notes: Game one featured a battle of two strong post players in Elton Brand and Eric Montross.  Brand's 20 points and 11 rebounds were enough to push his Blue Devils to the win in the series opener.  Chris Carrawell (19 pts) and Corey Maggette (11 pts) also provided double-figures in the win.  Eric Montross did play well, finishing with 17 points and 6 rebounds, but simply couldn't stay on the floor as Brand got nearly the entire UNC frontline in foul trouble.  Brand took an amazing 17 free throw attempts, making 14.

Duke sweeps the series 3-0

Notes: After the physical play that was seen in games one and two, game three was refreshing as both teams decided to get up and down the floor.  The Blue Devils were once again just a bit better as Trajan Langdon led Duke with 23 points and Chris Carrawell added 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists to push Duke to the series win.  Brian Reese led North Carolina with 16 points on 7-8 shooting and George Lynch added 12 points and 7 rebounds.  Eric Montross was held to just 9 points in the series deciding game, mainly due to the pace of play.  Both teams were lights-out shooting, as Duke made 60% of their shots and the Heels made 63% from the floor.  Duke moves on to face #12 UNC 80-81in the Elite 8.
