"It's not a done deal, I guarantee you that," Wellman said last night.
The Daily Camera reported that in the absence of cold feet, it appears that the basketball marriage between Wake Forest and Bzdelik, 57, is going to take place. It cited an unnamed source close to the situation saying that the agreement was a done deal and that Wake Forest was waiting to arrange the news conference to announce the hire.
Wellman said he had not read the story, but was told of its content.
"That's conjecture on their part," Wellman said. "There is no agreement with anyone and we're still in the search process."
