The coaching carousel just got another pony to ride on as Wake Forest has fired Dino Gaudio. The school has called a press conference for 4:30 today to announce the news.
Gaudio compiled a 61-31 record over 3 seasons at Wake Forest. Gaudio replaced the late Skip Prosser after his untimely death and did an admirable job in keeping the program together.
Gaudio joins Al Skinner and Oliver Purnell among ACC coaches leaving their positions after the 2009-10 season.
Wake Forest will be in rebuilding mode after a strong senior class departs which included Ish Smith, LD Williams, and Chas McFarland. Add in their most talented player, Al-Farouq Aminu, has declared for the NBA draft and you have a Wake Forest roster that is very young and inexperienced.
