According to the Boston Globe, Al Skinner has been fired by Boston College.
"Boston College basketball coach Al Skinner has been fired according to sources at Boston College. A press conference is scheduled for 3 p.m.
According to sources, Skinner met with BC officials yesterday afternoon and was informed of the decision."
Boston College has already begun seeking a replacement for Skinner and some names mentioned include Chris Mooney from Richmond, Steve Donahue of Cornell, and Billy Coen from Northeastern. Another name mentioned was former Duke guard and assistant Tommy Amaker who is currently coaching at Harvard.
This news comes after Skinner interviewed with St. John's this past week. While Skinner has never been the frontrunner for that position, it appears there was interest from both sides on ending this relationship.
