Shockingly enough, our game simulator was near perfect last night in not only picking the winners but picking the margin of victory as well.  Here's a recap..

  • On average after several simulations, the game simulator picked Tennessee by 4 (they won by 3)
  • On average after several simulations, the game simulator picked Baylor by 24 (they won by 23)
  • On average after several simulations, the game simulator picked Michigan State by 7 (we nailed it)
  • On average after several simulations, the game simulator picked Duke by 12 (they won by 13)

So, we missed the margin of victory by a total of 3 points for the four games.

So, lets go ahead and move on to the Saturday action.  We'll start with 10 simulations for each of the two games today, keeping in mind that the more simulations run the more accurate it should become...

Kentucky vs West Virginia

Matchup Simulation Stats

  • This game has been simulated 10 times.
  • Kentucky (2010) has won 5 times (50.0% of the time)
  • West Virginia (2010) has won 5 times (50.0% of the time)
  • The average score is Kentucky (2010): 71.0 - West Virginia (2010): 68.1
  • The game has gone into overtime 1 times (10.0% of the time)

Watching the simulations the games never had West Virginia winning big, but did have UK winning big a couple times.  Otherwise every game was close with one going into OT.

Kansas State vs Butler

Once again the matchup features 10 simulations and they are split 5 wins for each team.  Butler's win total was skewed by a 91-48 blowout in game 10 that saw Butler make 61.7% of their shots and 10 of 15 threes while Kansas State made just 28.3% of their field goal attempts.
