While the Tar Heels making it to the third round of the NIT is good news (at least to some), the fact that North Carolina, set to face UAB tomorrow night, not having sophomore seven footer Tyler Zeller isn’t. From a small article on Sports Illustrated says that head coach Roy Williams told reporters that Zeller is “50-50″ to play and that he hadn’t practiced today. All this because the sophomore big man got hit with about ten minutes to go in the second round against Mississippi State. That resulted in Zeller being diagnosed with a mild concussion and getting five stitches. I have to say that this is really not good news for this team that seemed to have finally gelled. Hopefully the young man will be able to go against UAB and contribute just like he has been doing of late. Of course, as I do with all the Tar Heels, let me wish all the best in a speedy recovery to Tyler Zeller.
