Boston College jumped out to an early 15-2 lead and never looked back cruising to an 80-60 win. Trapani scored a team high 17 points and hit his first 3 three pointers to start off the game. Reggie Jackson received the start once again and recorded a career high 11 assists and 9 rebounds despite taking just 5 shots. Rakim Sanders scored 15 points and 9 rebounds in the effort.
BC out-shot and out-rebounded the Hokies and maintained great defensive intensity throughout the game. The play was extremely sloppy towards the end of the second half which contributed to BC's 17 total turnovers but BC did have 19 assists (compared to VTs 5) and exhibited great ball movement.
Josh Southern once again started the first and second half but it was Evan Ravenel who once again impressed. He grabbed 6 rebounds in 16 minutes and showed some solid post moves. Although he did not score from the field he did flash a nice baby hook.
Also worth mentioning is the strong defensive effort to contain Malcolm Delaney. Delaney is the leading scorer in the ACC but shot just 5-16 (1-7 from three) and committed 4 turnovers. Raji, Jackson, and Elmore each did a terrific job on him.
Kudos to Nick Mosakowski for scoring his first collegiate points when he drained a three-pointer with under a minute to play.
