We have it on good authority that Jaybo Shaw, our backup QB, will be leaving Tech after the spring semester to pursue football elsewhere. While it is not confirmed, the little birdie in our ear is telling us that he will be enrolling at Georgia Southern to play for Jeff Monken (former Tech A-backs coach). The reasons for this are not yet clear, but one might be because of the talent level of the 2 redshirt freshman QBs who will be getting some reps in spring ball this year.
We will have more details for you as we confirm them. This news makes spring practice even more critical than ever. The only QB who will participate in spring ball who has seen game time is Tevin Washington (Nesbitt will be out due to ankle surgery). We wish Jaybo luck in his future endeavors.
