With high school playoffs heating up, BSD will be there to recap all the action. And what a big night it was, with Travis McKie, J.T. Terrell and Melvin Tabb all winning their games. A number of Wake recruits were in action as well. Check out WakeJake's quick wrap-up or click through the jump to get the low-down.

ACC Basketball Today: Weekend in Review: February 21st
In an awful week for Wake, NC State outplayed the Deacons in yet another shocking win for the Wolfpack. State now has a win over Duke, the best team in the ACC, as well as wins over Marquette and Wake Forest, two probable NCAA Tournament teams. Yet they carry a 3-10 ACC record, good enough for worst in the conference. Go figure.

Wizards' Josh Howard leaves game with knee injury
With 4:24 remaining in the initial period, Howard received a long pass from teammate Mike Miller. Howard's left knee buckled on him as he got the basketball. The Wake Forest product went to the ground immediately and needed assistance getting to the locker room. It was reported shortly thereafter that Howard had a sprained knee and wouldn't return to the game.

FOXNews.com - Weekly Wrap: Pac-10 nightmare coming true
WEEK TO FORGET: Wake Forest -- The Demon Deacons were fighting for a seed entering last week, but Dino Gaudio's team lost to a pair of unranked teams on the road. It began with Virginia Tech earlier in the week, but a setback from an N.C. State team that is in the cellar of the ACC could prove to hurt down the line. Wake now sits at 18-7 overall and 8-5 in ACC play with three games left: North Carolina and Clemson at home and Florida State on the road.

Kid stuff high on Doc Rivers’ list - BostonHerald.com
Daughter Callie is a junior on the Gators volleyball team, and if she wasn’t such a good student with an eye on grad school at Wake Forest, volleyball might play a bigger role in her future.

Scout.com: Riley Enjoys WFU Visit (prem)
A.L. Brown High School was expected to have a bit of a down year in 2009 but thanks to Travis Riley that was not the case. The talented 6’0 200lb. junior running back had a tremendous season and helped lead the Wonders to the 3rd round of the state playoffs.

Women's College Basketball Roundup: Wake Forest tops Central
Wake Forest 76, N.C. Central 63: Mykala Walker scored a career-best 15 points to lead Wake Forest past N.C. Central last night at Joel Coliseum. Secily Ray added 11 points for the Deacons and Asia Williams and Courtney Morris had 10 each.

English poised - BostonHerald.com
One year removed from a state title, Central Catholic would love nothing more than another championship. With a top-notch big man combo of Carson Desrosiers and Jimmy Zenevitch, you can’t help but love the Raiders’ chances.

Hitting the Wall Long season may be taking a toll on Deacons' freshmen
"No, I'm just in a little slump now," Harris responded when asked. "That's all." Stewart, Harris' roommate, was even more emphatic. "I haven't been playing well," Stewart said. "I haven't hit a wall. "Actually when I get back (to Winston-Salem), I'm going back to the gym to shoot, because I missed some open shots, and I know that's my role on the team. "If I'm not doing my role, I'm not doing my part."

High School Basketball Update - CharlotteObserver.com
J.T. Terrell, West Charlotte boys: 37 points in 112-58 win against Porter Ridge. Terrell also had 5 rebounds, four assists and four steals. He didn't play in the fourth quarter.

Terrell's 9 3-pointers lead Lions past Pirates - CharlotteObserver.com
Terrell, a Wake Forest signee, had no trouble finding the basket, dropping 29 points on the Pirates in the first half alone to stake West Charlotte to a 57-34 halftime advantage. Terrell, who scored 109 points in three I-Meck 4A tournament games last week, sank nine 3- point shots in addition to five rebounds, four assists and four steals against Porter Ridge.

Observations: Bigger gym needed for Vance-W. Charlotte - CharlotteObserver.com
Bad news for any of Vance's upcoming opponents. Rankin is healthy again. His jump shot, about the only chink in his armor, looked good Monday and he drove to the basket like the old Marquis. I actually wish he'd get more aggressive offensively. There's no one I know in North Carolina who can stay in front of him.

Power duo of guards propels Cougars - CharlotteObserver.com
Vance beat West Charlotte twice during the regular-season but the Lions, who won the I-MECK conference tournament last week, have gotten hot. Wednesday's game will feature four of the top guards in the country: Ogbueze and Rankin of Vance against Lions Jacoby Davis and J.T. Terrell. Shame the teams can't meet in a bigger gym.

High School OT.com - Roster announced for Dave Telep's Carolina Challenge
Dave Telep announced the 2010 participants for the Carolina Challenge on Monday.
