Duke released the following statement on the status of Lance Thomas...
"Senior Lance Thomas suffered a severe bone bruise to his right knee early in the second half of Wednesday’s game against North Carolina. He is doubtful for Saturday’s game with Maryland."
Thomas was injured in a collision in Duke's 64-54 win over UNC last night. The injury looked as if it could be much more serious, so this is a break for the Blue Devils.
The injury may be a blessing in disguise as it may be the excuse needed to get Mason Plumlee more minutes. The younger Plumlee was a key piece in Duke's win in Chapel Hill totaling 7 points and 9 rebounds.
