Boston College Bench Production

This is a post I have been meaning to write for a few weeks now. Lost amidst the basketball team's struggles this season has been the emergence of a strong bench which is something this team has lacked at times in the past.

Sophomore Reggie Jackson has garnered plenty of attention as perhaps this team's best pure scorer. Jackson is not the focus of the post though. I wanted to give Dallas Elmore, Courtney Dunn, and Tyler Roche the props they deserve.

Elmore is hands-down the team's best defensive stopper. He is the key cog in BC's full court pressure defense. He has good size for a guard and plays aggressive man defense. He has also found a niche for himself offensively as he has developed a nice mid-range game.

Courntey Dunn was described by Coach Skinner as the team's "best defensive center" and his minutes has certainly reflected this belief. He often gives up alot of size but he does a nice job of boxing out and has come up with some big blocks as well. He still looks out of place on the offensive end and he has a bad tendency to put the ball on the floor down around the basket. That being said he is a much improved player from last year and has actually scored some crucial points for the Eagles this season.

I wrote about senior Tyler Roche earlier in the week but he deserves another mention here. Roche as shown the ability, and more importantly the confidence, to drain three-pointers from almost anywhere on the floor. He has excelled in this aspect this season and his shooting percentage is way up.
