Highlighting ACC Stats in Conference Play

Looking at stats for conference games is always interesting...

A few interesting things I noticed from these stats...

  • UNC's has the highest turnover % at nearly 28% while Virginia has the lowest at just 13.5%.  FSU, BC, and Virginia Tech also have turnover percentages above 20.
  • The top 3 teams in terms of Efficiency Margin are Duke, Virginia, and Maryland.  The same three lead in eFG%.
  • It's not suprising to see Kyle Singler and Jon Scheyer at first and third respectively in +/- per game, but second and fourth may surprise you.  Jerai Grant of Clemson is second while Julius Mays is fourth.
  • Malcolm Delaney leads in scoring in conference play with 25.7 points per game.  Not bad for a guy that almost didn't play in his conference opener.
  • Usage rates are no surprise, as Vasquez, Landesberg, and Delaney lead the way.
  • Maryland and Virginia's successful starts may largely be attributed to their 3 point shooting, as they rank 1st and 2nd.  Despite their reputation Duke ranks 2nd to last in 3 point shooting in conference games.

Find some other interesting stats, post them in the comments below.
