Virginia announced that center Assane Sene has been suspended for the first three games for conduct detrimental to the team. Sene was a contender to start at center for Virginia.
Sene is Virginia's best shot blocker and will miss games versus Longwood and Rider and at South Florida. Likely Mike Scott, Jamil Tucker, and Jerome Meyinsee will get the majority of the minutes in the frontcourt with Sene unavailable.
