Prior to their exhibition game with Findlay tonight, Mike Krzyzewski announced that Nolan Smith has been suspended for 2 regular season games. Smith participated in a summer league game that was not sanctioned by the NCAA which forced the suspension. Duke opens the season with UNCG and Coastal Carolina.
In Smith's absence Duke started Jon Scheyer, Kyle Singer, Lance Thomas, Miles Plumlee, and Brian Zoubek tonight against Findlay.
