This weekend keeps getting better and better. It would be a coup if Harrison Barnes commits tomorrow. Not likely but I can dream.
James McAdoo, a 6-8 power forward out of Norfolk, VA ranked #2 overall in the class of 2011, committed to UNC late Sunday night. McAdoo joins Greensboro’s P.J. Hairston(#19 overall) in the 2011 class. McAdoo was on campus this weekend for the alumni game and remained in town to meet with Roy Williams on Saturday. 2010 recruit Kendall Marshall has also been doing his part to help bring recruits in but the deal was sealed with the meeting with Roy.
While the alumni game was very much about celebrating UNC basketball and the 2009 national title, the fringe benefit is you can bring recruits in and basically put them in front of a three hour long advertisement as to what you can be if you become a Tar Heel. You want a banner, ring, your name in the rafters and be an NBA player? Then this is where you want to play college basketball.
