Boston College trounced an overmatched NU squad 54-0. As coach Spaz said, "for this team that was a perfect beginning."
The game was over after BC's first play from scrimmage when Montel Harris took a 48-yard rush to the house. Harris looked brilliant rushing for 113 yards on 15 carries and two scores.
The quarterback play was better than expected but nobody has emerged from the pack. Shinskie looked to be the best of the bunch and will probably get the start next week, but it's hard to gauge how well they played based on this poor competition.
Boston College played six true freshman; Jim Noel, Conor O'Neal, John Wetzel, Michael Marscovetra, Luke Kuechly and Rolandan Finch. All looked good at times and can be expected to contribute some playing time this season.
Luke Keuchly really impressed in his debut. He is the leader of our very young linebacking group and was a menace yesterday leading the team with 7 tackles. He could be a special player.
I'm looking forward to next week and see how the offense fares against a slightly better opponent.
