I was disappointed when I realized that student ticket prices had gone up again this year to $120. I fully understand that this is still a bargain when compared to regular seats, but still its not cheap for student ticket prices. I'm sure it has something to do with BC's rather small stadium capacity, but home games rarely sell out anyways. Granted, this price probably does not keep many students from buying tickets, but it got me thinking about how other schools approach student ticket sales.
I've done a little research on how other programs handle the student ticket allotment. Some schools, like the University of Maryland, give the tickets for free to students who register. Other schools, like the University of Miami and North Carolina, require an athletics fee, that once paid ensures admission to games by simply swiping your student id card.
BC's student ticket prices are not the highest I have seen, Wisconsin charges around $200 for the season, but they are certainly price above the average. Rutgers tickets cost around $80, which seems to me to be a fair price. Unfortunately I don't have the time to do more in-depth research about other schools, but if you know please post it in the comments section.
