As you can see, the numbers are very similar between these two their freshman seasons. I think it is pretty obvious Jackson is not the shooter Rice was his rookie season, but Jackson does much more defensively for this team with his long wingspan and athleticism.
Jackson clearly has significant potential but he also has plenty of room to grow and improve his game before he becomes the go-to scorer for this team. Next year, he should be able to step up and become a reliable double-digit points guy for this team. If he improves his perimeter shooting he could develop into an all-conference player in the future. Keep in mind that Jackson's two biggest scoring outputs came in wins over UNC (17 points) and Duke (15 points).
It is also important to note Jackson assist-turnover ratio. Jackson will likely have to handle point guard duties next season when Paris is not on the floor. He should be fine if he continues to take care of the ball.
