NCAA Second Round Saturday and I have a busy day ahead of me. Today, I'll be coaching my boy's baseball practice and then holding my little girl's 4th birthday party. I'll be busy, but I'll be staying up-to-date on the games thanks to my Palm Treo Pro. Thanks to the wi-fi internet access, Sprint TV, and a few other great applications on the phone I'll be able to follow all of the games. Updates will be a little less frequent during portions of the day, but fear not, I'll be around to keep you informed.
The good news is that we do have live stats for ALL NCAA games. Check out the NCAA Tournament Scoreboard here.
Here are the matchups you can look forward to in the ACC...
- Maryland vs Memphis 3:20 ET Live Stats
- UNC vs LSU 5:45 ET Live Stats
- Duke vs Texas 8:15 ET Live Stats
Updates on the Games will follow below when the games begin.
Updates
- 3:20 ET: Villanova cruises past UCLA as 6 players score in double-figures. Villanova will get the winner of Duke/Texas playing tonight at 8:15.
- 3:21 ET: Maryland/Memphis are tipping off now.
- 3:34 ET: Memphis has jumped out quick up 19-8.
- 7:46 ET: In ACC News Maryland lost and the Heels move on. Duke plays in just a few minutes to try and keep at least two ACC teams alive.
- 7:51 ET: Purdue appears on their way to the first upset of the day.
- 9:21 ET: Duke up 7 at the half and looks extremely confident. Dexter Pittman hasn't been the force some thought he would be so far with just 6 points and 4 rebounds in the first half. Once again turnover margin is Duke's key as they have forced 9 turnovers against just 4 for themselves. In the other game of the night, Western Kentucky leads Gonzaga at halftime 37-35. Both teams have played well on the offensive end as both are shooting over 50% thus far.
- 11:00 ET: Duke and Gonzaga move on despite close finishes. It really turns out to be an uneventful day as the only upset was Purdue winning.
