With tip-off just a few hours away and March Madness in full swing, we anxiously await BC's first round game versus Southern Cal. Since the NCAA Tournament field expanded to 65 teams in 1985, #7 seeds have beaten #10 seeds over 60% of the time. On paper, this matchup is very evenly matched, although USC appears to be the popular pick in this one.
BC's Keys for Victory
1) Slow down the tempo
USC is faster and more athletic than BC. The Eagles must slow the game down and execute in their offensive sets. USC may struggle against the flex since they have yet to see it this year.
2) Prevent USC from getting big early lead
The Trojans are red hot right now. If they are able to jump out to a hot start BC may have a hard time keeping up, especially with USC's strong defensive play.
3) Three point shooting
BC, particularly Tyrese Rice, have not shot the ball well lately. USC is not a great shooting team.
We must break out of this slump tonight in order to win.
