Today marks the beginning of the NCAA tournament, and for your sake I hope you were able to get off work like I was. I'll be sitting in my La-Z-Boy today and enjoying the games all while blogging using my Palm Treo Pro. Throw in the fact that I have access to Sprint TV and the Sprint Digital Lounge and I'll be in blogger heaven. So, check back to this post throughout the day for the latest updates on the games as well as my thoughts on what is happening.
The good news is that we do have live stats for ALL NCAA games. Check out the NCAA Tournament Scoreboard here.

Updates on the Games will follow below when the games begin. Tell me, are you as excited as I am?!?
Updates
- 9:30 ET: Is it Noon yet? How many of you out there are leaving work early to watch the games?
- 11:57 ET: Man, 23 more minutes. I dare say these 20 minutes seem to last an eternity every year.
- 12:20 ET: 63 games in the next month, 32 today and tomorrow, and we're tipping off with Butler/LSU, Memphis/Cal State Northridge, and Texas A&M/BYU.
- 12:24 ET: How's that for a hot start, LSU up 9-0 after a minute and a half.
- 12:31 ET: Memphis down 11-4, now that would ruin my bracket rather quickly.
- 12:40 ET: Memphis settling in has it back to 13-13. Butler is ice cold and can't make a three against LSU.
- 12:45 ET: Memphis has Tyreke Evans and Dozier in foul trouble early, the Tigers are now up 17-16.
- 12:47 ET: How about Texas A & M, up 20-7 early thanks to an offensive efficiency of 166.7.
- 12:49 ET: Stepping away from the current games, Boston College big man, Josh Southern has posted a new entry on his blog. BC plays tomorrow.
- 12:50 ET: Texas A & M has made every shot they have attempted (fg, ft, and 3 pt) in the first 8 minutes of the game. I jinxed them as they just missed their first.
- 1:00 ET: How about the performance from Memphis guard Roburt Sallie, 9 minutes played, 17 points on 5-5 shooting including 4-4 from three point range.
- 1:08 ET: Just watching some Sprint TV on my Palm Treo Pro and I didn't realize LSU was 14-2 in the SEC this season. If the Tigers get past Butler they might just give UNC some trouble, especially if Ty Lawson is unable to play.
- 1:18 ET: 1 half of basketball down, Memphis is up just 34-31.
- 1:24 ET: Jim Calhoun will not coach UCONN as Calhoun has been taken to the hospital. Wow, hope Coach Calhoun feels better soon.
- 1:36 ET: I have Butler in both of my brackets and they're slowly coming back on LSU, only down 3 now. Make that 1.
- 1:44 ET: Butler takes their first lead of the game.
- 1:46 ET: I'm surprised CS Northridge is staying with Memphis. With Evans and others back in the lineup in the 2nd half I thought Memphis would come out and open things up.
- 1:50 ET: Who knew Memphis was allergic to the zone? The Tigers are shooting right around 37% so far and are now tied with CS Northridge 40-40.
- 2:03 ET: The opening session has two ties and a game that seems to be decided. Butler/LSU and Memphis/CS Northridge are tied while Texas A&M seems to have their game under control.
- 2:05 ET: With 10 minutes to go, Memphis is now down 62-56!
- 2:11 ET: At the 4 minute mark, LSU is now up 5 on Butler.
- 2:15 ET: Memphis seems to be taking control of the game a little more up 3 with the ball. Memphis has been owning the glass over the past few minutes.
- 2:17 ET: LSU now up 6 and has the ball with under 2 minutes remaining.
- 2:22 ET: Now you know his name...Matt Howard of Buttler. He just fouled out but played great today finishing with 20 pts and 7 rebs.
- 2:23 ET: Memphis now up 10 with a minute left.
- 2:24 ET: Butler still fighting, down 4 with 27 seconds left.
- 2:30 ET: It appears Memphis, LSU, and Texas A&M are moving on.
- 2:30 ET: The 2nd session of the day features UNC/Radford, Cal/Maryland, Purdue/N. Iowa, and Chattanooga/Connecticut
- 3:08 ET: Tyler Hansbrough scores and ties JJ Redick's all-time ACC scoring mark.
- 3:30 ET: UNC seems to be doing just fine without Ty Lawson, but Connecticut is finding things a bit more difficult without their coach as the Huskies are up by just 2.
- 3:38 ET: The interesting game at this moment is the Maryland/Cal game. Vasquez picked up his 2nd foul and the Terps offensive fluidity has gone away.
- 4:53 ET: Checking back in...1 Seeds are handling their business. Maryland is playing well. The Terps are dangerous when they rebound and value the ball. Purdue nearly let N. Iowa come back, but managed a win nonetheless.
