Boston College received a nice surprise by earning a #7 seed in the NCAA Basketball Tournament. BC will play the red hot USC Trojans in the opening round in Minnesota. USC snuck into the tournament by winning 5 straight games and defeating Arizona State in the PAC-10 Tournament.
This is a good matchup for the Eagles. USC is playing well right now and they are very athletic at all 5 spots. The Trojans are a strong defensive team, having allowed over 80 points only 3 times all season.
That being said, I like our potential matchups in the later rounds. We would likely face the #2 seed Michigan State Spartans in the second round. The Spartans seem to be the least impressive of all the #2 seeds and I think BC could have a legitimate shot if they win the opening round.
