Gutsy effort without Ty Lawson who would have undoubtedly made a huge difference. The other difference would have been a normal game from Danny Green who was 1-12. Better now than three weeks from now in Detroit should the Heels advance there.
Tyler Hansbrough broke the UNC rebounding mark in this game and now stands three points from breaking J.J. Redick’s ACC scoring mark. He and Wayne Ellington had huge games but in the end it was not enough to overcome a hot shooting game from FSU. Shocking I know but I am not sure I would lay it all on the defense. FSU was just plain hot in the 2nd half and that is how it goes.
Mortgaging the ACC Tournament to setup the NCAA run was the right decision. Lawson was not available and UNC now gets to head home and rest up. Now if Maryland can take Duke out, everything will be right with the world.
Also, you think Toney Douglas is a little pissed off over the ACC POY thing? I think so.
