BC's upset win over UNC vaulted the team to #17 in the AP poll. Tyrese Rice was also named ACC player of the week for his efforts. If there is one thing this win shows us its that anything can happen during any given game in the Atlantic Coast Conference. As Coach Skinner said, this win means little if BC does not finish strong in conference play. Its important to not take any game for granted.
I try not to get too excited in January, but I can't help but look at our remaining schedule. I think it is very realistic to believe that Boston College can win 9 or 10 of their remaining 15 games. This would give BC around 9 or 10 conference wins, which in my opinion would be plenty good enough to earn a seed in the tournament. Currently ESPN Bracketologist Joe Lunardi has BC in as a #10 seed

The 2 games against Wake Forest will be tough, as will playing at Miami, at Maryland, at NC State and at Virginia Tech (they always seem to give us troubles). I think BC lucked out drawing Duke and Clemson at home. We are long overdue to beat Duke, and I think this may be one of their thinnest squads in years. Clemson has started off strong this year, but I think we play them tough, especially after getting whooped by them in their house last year.
I hope fans are feeling the buzz surrounding the Boston College basketball program right now. Although Coach Skinner refuses to admit it, this was a very big win for the program right now. It was exactly what the team needed to spark some life and energy, not just for themselves but for the fan base. Fan support has been lacking recently, and these players truly deserve our support during the remainder of the year.
