Game Recap

Ask Sidney Lowe and I bet he'll tell you Stephen Curry is as advertised.

Curry scored 44 points against the Pack and hit a three from 30 feet with the shot clock running down that gave Davidson a 4 point lead late in the game.  NC State had a couple opportunities trailing by 3 in the final 20 seconds but missed each. Curry then iced the game with two free throws to lead to the final score of 72-67.

Here are a few thoughts on the game...

  • Sidney Lowe needs to trim his rotation.  Simon Harris and an injured Farnold Degand were adding nothing to this team today.
  • Dennis Horner needs to find more playing time, and CJ Williams made some nice plays early in the game.  Williams likely did the best job defending Curry.
  • Courtney Fells didn't bother showing up and was benched for most of the 2nd half
  • Javier Gonzalez had his moments, but his decision making was questionable today.  Despite overdribbling on occasion, Julius Mays was the better point guard today.
  • Costner and McCauley were the focus of the offensive attack for the Pack but why wasn't Tracy Smith playing more?  Maybe with fresh legs the Pack wouldn't have been dominated on the boards in the final 5 minutes.
  • Back to Curry.  So smooth, so good without the ball, so unselfish, etc, etc. The kid knocked down the 30 footer and then stared down Lebron James (watching in the front row).  Are you kidding me?  If memory serves James also attended one of Curry's games in the NCAA tournament last year.
