Rumor: Cornelius Hudson is Headed to Wake Forest to Play Basketball

There is a rumor that Cornelius Hudson could be headed to play basketball for Wake Forest. San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree is Hudson's older brother and tweeted the following earlier today:

Why this rumor makes sense: It has been rumored for several months, even dating back to when Jeff Bzdelik was the head coach, that Wake was interested in adding Hudson to its 2014 recruiting class. Wake does have an open scholarship and Danny Manning has been open about wanting to go into next season with the full allotment of 13 scholarship players. More specifically he said he wanted a wing and a big. Manning got the big in grad transfer Darius Leonard, and Hudson would obviously be the wing.

Why this rumor doesn't make sense: Wake Forest has also been pursuing wing transfers Andrew White of Kansas and Terry Henderson of West Virginia; neither of whom have publicly indicated that Wake Forest is out of the running. That being said, neither of them would be eligible to play next season, which might give Manning pause.

Likelihood Overall: 8/10. When you consider this is a name that has been floated around for months, the tweet, and the fact that we're actively looking to fill a scholarship it makes a lot of sense to me.

We will continue to track this story and provide updates as any new information comes along.
