Throw out those ACC games to look forward you had at the beginning of the season, because the first half has thrown us for a loop. Here are the 10 most intriguing games in the 2nd half of the college football season featuring an ACC team.
1. Clemson vs Florida State, November 7, 2015
This was probably number one on the list before season and it still is. Clemson and FSU are on a collision course and both should be ranked well within the top 10 by the time this game rolls around. This will have major playoff implications, and is the game of the year in the ACC.
2. Florida State vs Florida, November 28, 2015
Florida looks resurgent this year, and this game could have added meaning if one or both are in the hunt for a playoff position. Oh yea it has that ACC/SEC thing going for it too.
3. Pittsburgh vs Notre Dame, November 7. 2015
Pittsburgh is currently 5-1 and sitting in the top 25 of several polls. A game with Notre Dame provides head coach Pat Narduzzi a chance at his first OOC signature win with the Panthers.
4. Pittsburgh vs North Carolina, October 29, 2015
A couple of 5-1 teams, playing for Coastal Division supremacy on a Thursday night. This matchup looks a lot more fun than it did several weeks ago.
5. Duke vs North Carolina, November 7, 2015
Another matchup between two of the top teams in the Coastal Division. Throw in the fact that it is a rivalry game, and that should amp this game up even more.
6. Clemson vs South Carolina, November 28, 2015
Even though South Carolina will likely be playing just to get bowl eligible, Clemson gets South Carolina and chance to win back to back games against their in-state rival. Clemson could be playing to stay in the playoff chase in this one.
7. Duke vs Pittsburgh, November 14, 2015
Another game that will prove pivotal in the ACC Coastal Division race.
8. Clemson vs Miami, October 24, 2015
Clemson’s playoff hopes could die just as they get going. Playing at Miami could be tricky. The Hurricanes have just enough talent and desperation to make this a very dangerous game for Clemson.
9. Virginia vs Virginia Tech, November 28, 2015
This won’t be a game that affects the Coastal Division race, but I find this to be a very interesting game. Why? Because it could be the last game for both Virginia Tech’s Frank Beamer and Virginia’s Mike London.
10. Duke vs Virginia Tech, October 24, 2015
Virginia Tech might be struggling, but this is game where they can still beat the Duke Blue Devils. Duke needs to prove they can win games like where they are go on the road as the superior team. I’m intrigued by this game, because it can show if the Blue Devils are ready to take that next step as a program.
