The race for ACC COY is down to three coaches

Virginia Tech’s Mike Young was the early leader for ACC COY, but faded. Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski has lost 3 of their last 5 games.  Where does that leave the ACC COY candidates?

The realistic candidates for ACC Coach are Florida State’s Leonard Hamilton, Louisville’s Chris Mack, and newcomer Virginia’s Tony Bennett.

It’s probably going to come down to who wins the ACC regular season and/or ACC Tournament.

At 24-5 (14-4) and currently in first place in the ACC, it’s Leonard Hamilton’s award to lose. With games at struggling Notre Dame and a home game against BC. I like Florida State’s chance to win out, and give Hamlilton a near insurmountable lead.

Should Florida State drop a game, then the ACC COY could come down to the season ending Louisville game at Virginia. The Hoos still need win at Miami before that game. That’s a must win for Bennett to stay in the chase.

This should be an interesting race to watch as the season comes to a close.
