Game Recap

The No. 8 and No. 9 seeds really set the tone hopefully in what would be a great second day of ACC basketball.  Miami and Syracuse battle it out in Brooklyn for a chance to take on the No. 1 North Carolina on Thursday.

RailsThe game was pretty tight throughout and a game of small runs.  Syracuse started out the game strong but Miami eventually took the lead and held on to it for much of the first and second half.  But the Cuse continued to battle back and eventually took the lead around the 12:23 mark in the second half.

Miami would have an answer and go on a small run of their own to create a little distance but the Orange would once again cut it back down to two points late.

After going 1-for-2 from the line with eight seconds remaining, John Gillon had a chance to tie but missed the straight ahead three.

Miami eventually took home the 62-57 win.

Both teams shot 43 percent from the floor and statistically, both teams were equal in several categories.  Andrew White III led all scorers with 22 points for Syracuse in the loss, while Tyus Battle finished with 14 as well.

For Miami, Kamari Murphy led the way with 16 points, 10 rebounds while Devon Reed had 14 and Dejan Vasiljevic finished with 13 off the bench.
