Jordan Whitehead confirmed as out for regular season with arm injury

Pitt pulled off a big upset against Clemson this past weekend, but it didn't come without some casualties. Running back Chawntez Moss was injured in the game and starting safety Jordan Whitehead suffered a pretty gruesome arm injury. The injury was so bad, in fact, that the announcers calling the game stated that they would not be showing the replay because of its severity.

Based on that, we all figured Whitehead would be gone for some time and on Monday, head coach Pat Narduzzi confirmed that in his weekly press conference.

Whitehead will be out for at least the regular season. Narduzzi did say that he hoped to have the safety back for Pitt's bowl game, but obviously, at this point the date isn't yet known.

Narduzzi does quite a bit of posturing so I don't even know that a return for a bowl game would be possible, no matter when it is. But, as expected, you can at least rule out a Whitehead return in the next two weeks as the Panthers close the regular season.
