The Virginia Tech Hokies basketball staff is hard at work crafting together their roster for next season, with multiple shoes that could still potentially drop.
The Hokies reportedly lost forward Seth LeDay to transfer earlier this week, before he even step foot on the court for the team.
With his departure, Buzz Williams and his staff have one scholarship available, which could go to a number of different candidates, including 2017 4-star guard M.J. Walker (who has yet to make his decision), Connecticut sophomore forward Juwan Durham (who will transfer from the Huskies), and now, Mount St. Mary’s transfer guard Miles Wilson.
According to a report furnished by VT Scoop of the 247Sports Network, the Hokies have offered the 6’5″ Wilson a scholarship. As a freshman last season, Wilson averaged 11.9 points and 3.9 rebounds per game, while shooting 45% from the floor, including 37% from three.
Wilson was originally deciding between Auburn and Miami, but has received offers from both Virginia Tech and Virginia over the last few days, according to the report.
The size of Wilson is undoubtedly intriguing, as another imposing guard with a 6’5″ frame to pair with incoming 5-star guard Nickeil Alexander-Walker would take the Virginia Tech backcourt to another level through the mismatches that their size would create for their opponents.
Wilson will have to sit out next season due to NCAA transfer rules, but is a player who fans will need to keep tabs on over the next couple of weeks to see if he will ultimately land with the Hokies.
