What could be scarier than Quincy Guerrier playing in the dome of Carrier? Bet you Syracuse fans couldn’t be merrier.

The Syracuse Orange basketball program continued its recruiting pipeline to Canada as Thetford Academy and Brookwood Elite forward Quincy Guerrier committed to Syracuse. Guerrier, a 6-foot-7 athletic wing with range, ultimately picked SU over Oregon and Illinois.

He took his Syracuse visit in late September and played basketball with the guys currently on the team, went out to eat and celebrated Tyus Battle’s birthday. After his visit, he had this to say to Adam Zagoria:

To be honest, I enjoyed my visit,” he said. “I had a good relationship with the coaches and the players. I knew some players because they had Oshae, Tyus, Buddy [Boeheim] and Howard Washington. I feel comfortable right now with Syracuse.”

Before his announcement he noted that he got along with the guys on the Syracuse team really well. Guerrier also shares an honor with current Syracuse forward Oshae Brissett, taking home MVP in the Biosteel All Canadian game. He plans to enroll at Syracuse next semester and redshirt for the 2018-19 season.

Known as the ‘Candy Man,’ Guerrier fittingly made his commitment on Halloween. Looks like Syracuse fans will have material to work with when he eventually dons an orange uniform.
