Clemson assistant, Earl Grant, will be the next head coach at College of Charleston.

Clemson assistant Earl Grant has been named the College of Charleston new men's basketball coach, and will be introduced on campus on Friday, ending a nearly month-long search since the firing of Doug Wojcik.

Wojcik was fired after his second-year with the Cougars following and investigation into allegations that he verbally abused players, assistant coaches and staffers in the athletic department.

He spent the past four seasons on Clemson's staff. Before that, Grant served six years as an assistant for Gregg Marshall at Winthrop and Wichita State. He also was an assistant at the Cougars' crosstown rival Citadel from 2002-04.

"I want to thank Earl Grant for all of the hard work and dedication he's brought to our program these past four years," said Brownell in a statement released by Clemson Tuesday night. "Earl is an outstanding coach with a unique gift for connecting with young people. His positive outlook on life, passion for the game of basketball and ability to connect with people will serve him well in his time at Charleston.
