Is Jon Rothstein correct?

Jon Rothstein, a college basketball insider for CBS Sports Network released his ACC predictions today. His preseason favorite is UNC, and he also predicted that Wake Forest will be the second worst team in the conference. Needless to say, he does not believe there is a palpable buzz around the team in Winston-Salem. Is he right?

While I believe that Wake Forest will still probably be in the bottom third of the ACC, mostly due to the dominance up top, I believe that second to last is too low. Wake had very few losses of significance, and added a highly regard three-man freshman class. I can easily see Wake Forest finishing above Boston College, Clemson, Virginia Tech, and Georgia Tech. I can also see Wake finishing ahead of Syracuse.

Codi Miller-McIntyre will be one of the better guards in the league, and I expect Devin Thomas and Dinos Mitoglou to form a formidable post-player duo. Freshmen forwards John Collins and Doral Moore will also provide Manning with much needed depth down low. Additionally, Bryant Crawford is a dynamic guard who could be incredible in transition. Combine that with the outside shooting of MItchell Wilbekin and Cornelius Hudson, and Wake Forest should easily improve on its offensive rating from last year. Also expect Wake to have an improved defense given it being the second year in Manning's system, and added shot-blocking on the interior.

What do you all think?

Also, the Maui Invitational Tournament bracket will be released tomorrow afternoon, so expect to see an update on Wake's 1st round opponent, and other potential matchups.
