Let's take a look at Georgia Tech football.

Best / Worst Case Record for :

Louisville | Virginia | Miami | Duke | Boston College | Pittsburgh | Florida State | Virginia Tech | NC State | Clemson |  Syracuse | North Carolina | Wake Forest

ACC 2023 Football Schedule

Georgia Tech

The nightmare Geoff Collins era at Georgia Tech ended in September 2022. Interim now full-time head coach Brent Key brought more consistency and optimism the last two months of the season than Georgia Tech had seen in years as the Jackets went a respectable 4-4 down the stretch. Key and the Jackets went hard in the transfer portal and he’s had a full off-season to institute type the program he wants to run. He had a lot of Collins mess to undo. Will it translate to bowl season or more Georgia Tech?

Will Go 8-4 (6-2) if:

The defense can take a leap forward. Georgia Tech’s rush defense was last in the ACC, and in total defense wasn’t much better. The defense had some nice moments last year, including a fantastic effort against UNC where they held the Tar Heels to 17 points. The offensive line could be as good as Georgia Tech has had in a while. Georgia and Clemson are probably beyond the Jacket’s reach, but they should be able to compete with the rest of their schedule. If Georgia Tech can start the year 4-1 winning the toss-up games with Louisville and Wake Forest, I give them a shot at an 8-4 season.

Will Go 4-8 (2-6) if:

The schedule is simply too much for Georgia Tech. Any schedule that has Georgia, Clemson, and a game at Ole Miss could be three losses out of the gate. There’s not a lot of the schedule where the Jackets will be big favorites – South Carolina State and Bowling Green are the only two that come to mind. While The Jacket’s offense looked good in the spring game, if it resembles the unit that struggled to move the ball last year, the season could be a long one for Georgia Tech.
